Floor Mounted Smart Toilet Buyers Check Fit, Then Features

Seven of the ten smart toilets in the Seewin range are floor mounted, and a buyer choosing among them is making two decisions: will the toilet fit the bathroom, and which features suit the customer. The length, width and weight answer the fit question, and the feature lines answer the other. This article works through both for each Floor Mounted Smart Toilet model, using only the listed dimensions and the feature lines on the listings.

Fit: length

The seven listings give lengths of 666, 670, 680, 682, 700, 700 and 705 mm. The shortest is the Alice and the longest is the Leipzig, a spread of 39 mm. The lengths fall into two groups: four between 666 and 682 mm, and three between 700 and 705 mm. A layout drawn for the shortest Floor Mounted Smart Toilet needs no more than 39 mm extra for the longest, so the length question is nearly settled before the model is chosen.

Fit: width and floor area

Width separates the Floor Mounted Smart Toilet models more than length does. The listed dimensions give widths from 375 mm for the Leipzig to 456 mm for the Alice, a spread of 81 mm, so the longest model is also the narrowest and the shortest is the widest. Multiplying length by width gives a bounding rectangle for each model: about 0.264 square metres for the Leipzig and about 0.304 for the Alice, with the other five between them. The Alice sits in a rectangle about 15 per cent larger than the Leipzig.

Bowls are rounded, so these rectangles are an upper bound on the true footprint, not the footprint itself. A customer with a narrow room can still choose between a long, narrow bowl and a short, wide one, and a Floor Mounted Smart Toilet listing that gives both numbers makes that choice easy.

1-1

Weight

Weights run from 40 kg for the Alice and the Anna to 45 kg for the Hannover, the Victoria and the two Munich models, with the Leipzig at 44 kg. Two weights, 40 and 45 kg, cover six of the seven models. The wall-hung Liberty and Freedom models are listed at 36 kg, so the floor-mounted models are 4 to 9 kg heavier, which is 11 to 25 per cent.

A Floor Mounted Smart Toilet carries its weight through the floor. The listed dimensions and weights give a buyer a starting point for freight quotes and for briefing an installer.

Against the wall-hung models

Three wall-hung models, the Liberty and the two Freedom units, are listed at 570 mm long and 374 mm wide. Set against them, the Floor Mounted Smart Toilet models are 96 to 135 mm longer and between 1 and 82 mm wider. The Leipzig is almost the same width as the wall-hung models, so length separates the two installation types more clearly than width does. A buyer who stocks both installation types can show these three differences, length, width and weight, in one short comparison on the product page.

Seven models, four reasons to choose

Once the fit is settled, the listings separate the seven Floor Mounted Smart Toilet models by what each one adds. For a customer who wants comfort, the Alice lists a night light and several wash modes, namely a rear wash, a feminine wash and a reciprocating wash, plus a SPA wash with massage that runs from strong to weak and from hot to cold. The Anna lists a heated seat and massage washing, and the Munich-CM1 lists automatic cleaning and drying.

For a customer who wants hands-free use, the Hannover opens and closes the lid and seat as the user approaches, and it adds a foot sensor. For a customer who wants control, the Munich-CM2 lists an LED display and instant heating, and the Victoria lists app control, UV sterilization for the bowl and ambient light at the base. A buyer matching a Floor Mounted Smart Toilet to a customer can start from one of these three questions.

The fourth reason is colour and form. The Leipzig comes in white, silver, gold, blue, green and pink, the Anna in white and gold, and the Munich-CM2 in black, while the Victoria is listed as a square floor-standing toilet. Six of the seven models are offered in white, so a retailer who wants a plain white Floor Mounted Smart Toilet has six to choose from, and a retailer who wants a colour has three.
